The primary focus of these sites is on the first and second time visitors who can plan their entire trip with the information and tips available. Our customers are excited to plan their trip with us and it makes our day being able to exceed their expectations with our personal approach to customer service. It all started with NewYork.nl but has since expanded into 18 different countries including i.a. NewYorkCity.fr and NuevaYork.com. Swedish Content and Helpdesk Manager

What you’ll be doing exactly:

  • Maintaining our Swedish website www.NewYork.se;
  • Translating pre-existing content from English to Swedish;
  • Writing new content for the website;
  • Keeping the existing content up to date;
  • Proofreading and editing content;
  • Helping travelers to have an unforgettable time in New York;
  • Managing the help-desk via email and Facebook;
  • Social Media management;
  • Creating the newsletter;
  • Helping the marketing team to set up and maintain Google AdWords, Facebook campaigns and other marketing activities, like link building.

Where you’ll be doing that:

  • In our international office, located in the centre of Amsterdam.

What you need to have:

  • (Dutch) HBO diploma or equivalent;
  • Native level of Swedish;
  • Excellent command of English or Dutch;
  • Good command of Danish is a plus;
  • A love for New York;
  • Service-oriented but commercially driven;
  • Good general computer skills;
  • Accurate, fast and able to work independently;
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress or a willingness to learn;
  • Basic knowledge of HTML or a willingness to learn.

What we offer:

  • A starting salary of €2300 – €2600 gross based on a 40 hour work week, depending on age and education;
  • One year contract of 16 to 40 hours per week;

PR and Marketing Intern 32-40 hours in Amsterdam

What you’ll be doing exactly:

  • Implementing (digital) marketing strategy for our 18 New York websites and app;
  • Optimizing Google Adwords for all country sites (SEA);
  • Creating and optimizing Facebook ads for all country sites;
  • Co-creating PR designs and print creations/advertisements;
  • Executing PR activities in line with our content/content strategy;
  • Assisting with NewYork.nl participation at Dutch / International Holiday Fairs;
  • Aligning with fair organizers, intermediaries, and suppliers;
  • Building (online) partnerships with relevant and interesting (New York-based) parties;
  • Managing international press list;
  • Setting up press relationships / sending out international press releases;
  • Creating (statistical) reports.

Where you’ll be doing that:

In our vibrant office, located in the center of Amsterdam close to Leidseplein within the Vondelpark.

What you need to have:

  • Currently studying at HBO or University;
  • Excellent command of Dutch or English;
  • A love for travel;
  • Some experience with or interest in online media and marketing;
  • Service-oriented but commercially driven;
  • Good, general computer skills;
  • Accurate, fast, and able to work independently;
  • Good work ethic: you effectively take on today’s tasks.

Senior WordPress Developer (Backend) 32-40 hours

What are we looking for?:

A go-getter and a coding genius! Does HTML, CSS, PHP and jQuery excite you? Great, because it will be your responsibility to build our dreams from scratch.

We love creative solutions, so you’ll need to be able to think outside the box and come up with cool and original ideas. You can easily work with WordPress customisations, in addition to having a strong sense of e-commerce and work processes.

What will you be doing exactly?:

  • Developing, managing and improving WordPress themes and -plugins
  • Creating e-commerce-solutions
  • Setting-up and managing external API’s and data feeds

Where will you be doing it?:

In our cosy office, located in the centre of Amsterdam.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum education level of BSc (HBO) or MSc (WO Master),
  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar function, PHP senior level
  • Knowledge of PHP, HTML (5), CSS (3), Javascript, MySQL
  • Basic knowledge of SEO is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
